Mis materjal on džuut?
Džuut on troopiline niiskuselembene taim, mis kasvab 3-4 meetri kõrguseks. Seda taime võib võrrelda ka meie pillirooga ning see kasvab praktiliselt vees. Džuut saab koristuskõlbulikuks 4-5 kuuga. Kiudu valmistatakse taime koorest umbes samamoodi nagu linast. Džuudikiud seovad endaga vett, jäädes ise praktiliselt kuivaks. Nad on ka UV-kaitsega. Džuudi kasvatamisel ei kasutata väetisi ega taimekaitsevahendeid. Džuut on üks vastupidavamaid looduslikke kiumaterjale, mis ei mineta oma omadusi isegi kõrge temperatuuri juures.
